Only
minutes from shore, yet far from the noise and dust of the hectic world.
Wild's Island is one of the earliest summer residences on the lake
established early in the 20th century. 2 acres of completely private paradise,
just a bit north of the noisy crowds of Muskoka. Ideal for 2, a large
family, friends or a company. Incredible peaceful with sandy, safe, and
protected beach (wonderful for children) on its eastern shores. |
Wade,
swim, dock or beach the boats or windsurfer, swim and snorkel with the
resident fishes. Watch in silent awe when the sun rises over the lake
or the northern lights drop in to set the night sky aflame. The Island
is large enough so that two families can each have their own privacy
and children can play without disturbing others.
|
Unique
in the north, Wild's Island is fully covered with fertile soil,
supporting a large central natural grassy playground, hidden by stately
white and red pines, ancient cedars, whispering aspen and white birches
painting a cavalcade of autumn colours. Call it nature's cradle, God's
country, and paint Wild's Island in the heart of it, colour it
green, tranquil and beautiful. Those with running ambitions find the Fitness
Trail, winding through the bush around the perimeter to the island, a
pleasant challenge to walk off the extra ounces from yesterday's fabulous
Bar-B-Queue.

Fishing
at it's best
Catch the bass in their rocky hangouts on the western shores, where
the sun ends its joyful journey silently shipping into the calm, mirrored
lake. Or delicious freshly caught walleye pickerel are always high on
the island menu. The combination of warm, sandy shallows, protective
weed beds, rocky spawning shoals, cold depts (to 100 feet) and moving
water combined make Lake Restoule the habitat for an unusually great
variety of fish. Trophy muskies and lake trout, pike, whitefish, fighting
bass and walleye dinners are teasing to be caught.
|
 |
Lake
Restoule is about 15 km long with many scenic fingers and arms and relatively
sparsely populated. It is one of an interconnected network of lakes
and miles of pristine uninhabited backcountry and lakes waiting to be
fished and hunted. In bidding 'good night' it casts a blanket of pure
gold over the horizon. Absolute silence descends over the north accented
only by the unforgettable wail of the legendary resident loons.

The
Boat House
Greets your arrival and strategically located at the boat dock on the
sandy beach, brimming with ancient and modern tools (for those with 'Cottage
fever'), boating and fishing equipment as well as beach paraphernalia.
