The Kilns

 

The Gaz Kilns

The DAN kiln is used for firing Celadon-, Chun-, Oxblood-, Temmoku-, Teadust- and many other types of glazes on porcelain 
or stoneware bodies up to 1280C in a reduction atmosphere.

The test kiln is used for quickly (in about 2 hours) firing test samples up to 1280C.The cooling sequence takes about 40 
minutes by injecting compressed air.

The Wood fired Kiln

The kiln is of the type "Sevres", originally used to fire porcelain.

Construction 99.99% completed. The kiln is of the type "Sevres", originally used to fire porcelain.

The first firing. Up to 1000C only!

The first firing. Up to 1000C only! Sh.....! The biggest frustration in my life.

Second firing. 1260C  in 9 hours

Second firing. Increased chimney by 3m. 1260C  in 9 hours!!!! With less than 1m3 of wood.

 

The Electric Kiln

26 years old WENGER kiln. Used for biscuit firing and crystal glazes production.

26 year old "Wenger" Kiln
